The
Beauty of Hardwood
A natural material of the highest quality, smooth to the touch, in warm
colors, creating a breathtaking decor-that's the key to adding value to your
home.
A Floor That Lasts
A hardwood floor every bit as strong and beautiful 25 years after it was
installed. That's important to keep in mind when choosing a floor covering, don't
you think?
Your Style
The Mirage collections offer a wider selection of wood species, stains, and
finishes than any other prefinished hardwood on the market.
All Mirage collections have one thing in common-your peace
of mind for years to come.
Our goal is your satisfaction.

Mirage, the Cream of the Crop
Mirage is the cream of the crop in prefinished
hardwood floors. Simply ask those who know.
For the third time in four years,
Mirage has earned in 2006 the top ranking for quality in a national
industry survey conducted by Floor Focus magazine.
Mirage stops at nothing to ensure an
impeccable final product. Years of research and development,
cutting-edge technology and the expertise of our people come together to
make every step of our manufacturing process the best it can be.
Take a close look at the picture to the side. Look at how the strips join
together-the joint is close, flawless, and uniform. That's a good way to judge
the quality of a hardwood floor.
And quality is what matters when you're having your hardwood floor installed.
When it's time to maintain and clean it. When it's time to admire it and be
proud. |

Choosing A Hardwood Floor
Mirage flooring is available in the most popular species for all tastes
and styles. Each species has its own grain, color, and veining. The most
popular species of hardwood are oak, maple, birch, ash, cherry, beech,
and walnut.
Their degree of hardness is similar. While maple is certainly harder
than oak or birch, the difference is of little consequence under normal
residential use. The choice of species has no real bearing on how
visible marks will be on your floor's surface.
However, some exotic woods are noticeably harder, such as (Jatoba)
Brazilian cherry and (Cabreuva) Santos Mahogany. This can be a plus in
higher traffic areas.
For regular residential use, the only significant difference between
species is appearance. A wood such as maple has very subtle veining. In
Select & Better grade, a maple floor is pale and uniform. Species like
oak and ash have very pronounced grains and create a characteristic
woody look. Walnut and exotic woods are dark with subtle shading.
Sunshading
Wood is a natural material that reacts to light. All wood species change
color after installation, but the change is more noticeable in species
like Brazilian cherry, Santos mahogany and American cherry. See
Polyurethane Protection for more information.
The Mirage collections include the following species. To get a better
idea of how they'll look, see them at Douglas Hardwood Floors.

| The Mirage Difference... Types of Finish Keep in mind how the room will be used and how much maintenance you're
willing to put into it. A very bright, smooth finish can create a
stunning effect, but will tend to draw attention to scratches and marks
of any kind and make dust and dirt more visible.
Semi-gloss or
Cashmere?
Keep in mind how the room will be used and how much maintenance you're
willing to put into it. A very bright, smooth finish can create a
stunning effect, but will tend to draw attention to scratches and marks
of any kind and make dust and dirt more visible.
Mirage is offering you two finishes: Semi-gloss and Cashmere.
Semi-gloss
A medium-bright finish. This very popular gloss is the standard for
prefinished hardwood floors.
Cashmere
It provides a low gloss-oil finish look with the same great maintenance
and performance characteristics as our other products. It's a very
practical choice for families with children, pets, or high traffic areas
in their home, as the low gloss finish will hide many imperfections that
can occur over time.
